London Marathon 2013 The Mall

The London Marathon was first run on 29 March 1981 and has been held in the Spring of every year since.

This year one of our team, John Housden, was privileged to be a marshal at the event. John was situated about half way along the race, 14 miles into the race at Narrow Street watching as the 36,000 runners passed after they had set off from the starting line in Blackheath.

An amazing 700,000 spectators lined the streets in support of the runners.

AWS Ocean Energy – practical, affordable wave energy

AWS III Loch Ness

AWS III Loch Ness

AWS Ocean Energy, one of Scotlands pioneering wave energy companies create smart wave power solutions used in the pursuit of practical, affordable energy.

Their AWS-III machine is a multi-cell array of flexible membrane absorbers which convert wave power to pneumatic power through compression of air within each cell. The cells are interconnected, thus allowing interchange of air between cells in anti-phase. Turbine-generator sets are provided to convert the pneumatic power to electricity.

Stanley Schloss in the i-sells technical department said “If you look closely enough at the picture, you may see some of our i-sells ducting components that have been used on this great device, which has been installed in Loch Ness”.
