Explain the design idea relating to the double air brick sizes for use in conventional brick properties.
Hello Ray,
A variety of different airbrick sizes are available. These are used for different applications and provide different levels of airflow.
As a rule of thumb, the larger the airbrick, the more air can flow through.
Can you please clarify your question and application and we'll be more than happy to advise on a selection of suitable products?
Kind regards,
Michael
What is free flow area of this item, is it equivalent to 6" dia hole from my extractor fan. At the moment my extractor discharges through system 150 rectangular duct and then through a standard airbrick. I need to increase the flow area of the airbrick and am thinking of cutting out the louvers of the standard airbrick and installing this to the face of the wall i.e not built in, to give me a larger flow area.
Good morning George. The double airbrick as a free air rating of 17968mm2 and yes it is the equivalent to 150mm or 6 inch. This is plenty for most cooker hood extracts up to 1000m3/hr.
