Extractor Fans and ventilation ducting are widely used in domestic and commercial buildings and are often installed in the ceiling. Ceilings are subject to fire regulations and must be fire protected in accordance with Approved Document B of the Building Regulations. Once a hole is made in the ceiling for the installation of a thermoplastic fan or vent, the integrity of the ceiling and its ability to perform in the event of a fire is significantly reduced.
