Manufactured from Grade 304 Stainless Steel
A cushioned low noise flap prevents unwanted sounds from being heard from within the property.
This also features a gravity flap to prevent small mammals and birds from accessing the ducting attached to it.
The gravity flap is stylishly covered by the square shape cowl and in doing so, offers more of an aesthetic appearance than most traditional plastic grilles.
Stainless steel Cowles offer greater weatherproofing, and are not affected by ultraviolet rays like some plastics can be.
The grille can be cleaned using any stainless steel cleaner.Ideal for all tumble dryer vent pipes/hoses, bathroom vents & extractors, air conditioning units, kitchen fans & vents, home wall vents, heat transfer & ventilation systems, gas & electric dryers, cooker hood extractors, as well as a wide variety of industrial uses.

Good quality gear at a good price and very rapid delivery. Would certainly use this company again. -

Well made but major issue with the design is the back draft vent that catches the slightest breeze and bangs. This noise is then amplified by the ducting. As detailed by others the vent never seemed to actually shut fully and it could benefit from a slight angle to help gravity close when not in use. After three days of constant noise it had to come down and old plastic unit re-installed. -

The flap has no spring to keep it closed when the fan is off. So, despite having a rubber edge on the flap, you hear a metallic banging sound when it is disturbed by the wind. Needs to be redesigned with a spring to hold it closed when fan is off. -

Absolutely right for my purpose and efficiently delivered. Excellent value. -

The real test will come in the winter when I find out how much of the cold draught that currently blows into the extractor duct and then into the kitchen is excluded. I am hopeful!

#1Connecting to cooker hodI want to connect this to a rangemaster cooker hod. It will require a 90 degree bend. not sure if I buy metal or plastic ducting, what I would need and how it connects together. Can you help?
Question by Brian Fletcher, 06-08-2015Hello Brian
Thank you for your question.
You will have to go from rectangular to round and I will need to know the diameter of the rectangular ducting you have as other items will be needed. Please give me a call on 0208 463 9683

Question by Nigel Jones, 04-03-2016Hello Nigel
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately we are unable to help you on this occasion as none of our grilles withstand the heat that is being extracted from your wood burner.
Kind Regards

Replied by i-sells, 07-03-2016#3Flap operationDoes the flap operate quietly and effectively? Why has the price been reduced?
Question by Mike, 28-07-2016Hello MikeThe spigot is fitted with a foam rubber gasket on the inside rim and there is a buffer stop of the same material on the inside of the cowl so that metal does not come into contact with metal.Although steel prices have been steadily rising and price increases are imminent (01/08) we have a temporary excess stock of this product and this is reflected in the price.RegardsIanReplied by i-sells, 29-07-2016#4Cooker HoodI'm looking for a stainless steel vent/grille to fit on the end of a Neff cooker Hood which has an extraction rate of 730m3/hr. It has a 150mm dia outlet and will need approx. 1.5m of hose. Will the free area be enough for this extraction rate? I also seem to have a problem with wasps trying to nest about the house and I don't want them in the extraction hose, will this particular model prevent insects with the non return flap or would I be better off with the DUCSS150, although the free area of this is lesser.
Question by Martin, 16-08-2017Hello Martin
The 150mm outlet on the hood means, to ensure adequate free air extraction, 150mm ducting should be used and rigid ducting if possible, plastic is fine. The DUCSS150 outlet has an insect mesh behind the louvres so wasps will not be able to enter the duct. The DUCSS153 has a slight advantage in free airflow and the non return valve closes when the hood is not in operation although this does not have an insect mesh. The difference between the two should not affect the fan performance noticeably.Replied by i-sells, 18-08-2017#5dismantlable?Hi, can the cowl and flap be temporarily dismantled to allow the internal radius of the vent to be sealed against the smaller duct? Long story, but I have a big hole in the wall with a small duct, neither of which are easy to fix, so I'm hoping to solve both problems with this large cover, so long as I can seal the outside of the smaller duct against the inner edge of this vents spigot. Thanks
Question by OuterSpaceHopper, 27-09-2017Hi Lyndon
You haven't indicated the smaller duct size but I would imagine it should be 125mm or 100mm round, therefore have a look at the following items by entering these codes into the quick search bar.QS1591 - female coupling that will fit over the cowls' spigotQS8830 - Reducer fits into coupling and reduces to 100mmQS8831 - Reducer fits into coupling and reduces to 125mmHope this helpsReplied by i-sells, 29-09-2017#6!25 Couled outlet with non-return flap vent/grille s/stl ductingThe price in euros including transport to Portugal for s/stl above item if possible w/bird protection mush .I have to install on outside wall from kitchen exhaust /chimney.Thanks

Question by Jonathan Cole, 01-06-2018Hello Jonathan
Thank you for your question. You can silicone the spigot on the grille which will then fit inside the pipe you can then screw or rivet to secure before pushing back through the wall and fixing the grille to the outside wall. If I can help any further please do not hesitate to contact meKind RegardsAnitaReplied by i-sells, 01-06-2018#8suitable to fitting to a 1hr fire walllooking at a product to fit into a 1hr fire break wall to allow the sprinkler water out but prevent air getting back in during normal times. Can you recommend a suitable product. we need 10 to 30
Question by DAVID, 11-07-2018Hello David
I hope I have interpreted the question correctly as I am not sure how water from a sprinkler system would enter an air duct? The product referred to is a termination for an intermittent extract system that prevents backdraught (air entering from outside) when the extraction is not active. It is designed to be installed in extract ducting and if passing through a fire rated wall the duct would need to have a Fire cuff, Fire Wrap or (if metal ducting) a Fire block installed. In the case of fire these crush the duct or expand internally blocking the passage of air and smoke, and therefore water.Replied by i-sells, 11-07-2018#9Using just the coverI would like to fit a metal cowled cover over an existing grille: can I use only the cover part and have it screwed to the outside wall? What are its exact dimensions? And will it impact significantly on the airflow (which is _700m3/hr)? Many thanks for your help.
Question by Rita, 04-03-2020Hello Rita
Thank you for your question Unfortunately the cover on this item can not be removed as it is fixed. We do sell cowl covers but they only come in plastic. If you would like to have a look at the range you can do so buy entering rytons into the search bar on our website.Kind RegardsAnitaReplied by i-sells, 05-03-2020#10Can you send me a detail drawing of this showing the sizes pleaseI need to know the diameter of of the spiggot and the dimensions of the square ss frame. Does it have insect mesh?
Question by brian p, 15-03-2020Hello Brian
Thank you for your question. The spigot on this item is 6" 150mm the dimensions of the square is 180mm x180mm and no this item does not have insect mesh it has a damper which will close when the fan is not in use and stop the blow back of air.If we can help any further please do not hesitate to contact usKind RegardsAnitaReplied by i-sells, 16-03-2020#11Free Area? + damperHi, 1. Which 150mm cowl has the highest free area? 2. Can the damper be removed or disabled open for DUCSS153?
Question by Mat Ridout, 15-12-2020Hello Mat
Thank you for your questions. The gravity grille has 16,000mm2 free air and the louvred grille has 11,440mm2 free air. The free air does not apply to the cowled grilles in accordance with the manufacturers data, In regards to the DUCSS153 the damper is fitted with a split pin so could be removed.Kind RegardsAnitaReplied by i-sells, 15-12-2020#12DimensionsThe drawing for the 150mm 6in Grill shows the same dimensions as for the 125mm 5in Grill. Is this correct? I have an existing large hole in the wall so an item larger than 180mm square would be better.
Question by David Corlett, 13-12-2021Good morning David. Both the 125mm and 150mm are 180x180mm.
The only item that might help to tidy it up a little bit is VKC661 wall plate. That is 205mm x 205mm. You will need to drill extra holes for the grill to fit over it.Kind regards,Marc.Replied by i-sells, 14-12-2021#13Illustrated dimensions not correct?Dimensions shown on i-sell website seem to be for 125mm model. If so - please what are the correct ones for the 150mm version?
Question by R Phillips, 04-05-2022Good morning. The dimensions are the same 180x180, but the spigot size will be 146mm.
