#1Cost of back draught shutterI can't see any difference between this shutter and others available on line at a quarter of the price as details are in short supply. Perhaps you could advise me of the differences as this is being installed in a domestic MHVR system
Question by Keith Dacon, 09-01-2016Hello Keith
Thank you for your question. The product you are looking at is made from pre-galvanised steel with spring-loaded vanes of aluminium. We also do plastic backdraught shutters. They both do the same job and you have a two choices to choose from.
Replied by i-sells, 11-01-2016#2Horizontal mounting OK?Can this backdraught shutter be mounted in a horizontal position? Thanks!
Question by Francis Reed, 28-01-2016Hello Francis

Replied by i-sells, 28-01-2016#3BACK DRAUGHT SHUTTERDO YOU HAVE OR CAN I OBTAIN A RECTANGULAR BACK DRAUGHT SHUTTER IN PLASTIC TO FIT MANROSE SYSTEM 125. THE SIZE IS 150X70MM
Question by JOHN DIAPER, 07-02-2017Hello JohnThe system 150mm x 70mm does not have a rectangular connector with back draught shutter to acheive this you would need to convert to round again and use the connector with damper or wall plate with damper.See QS39017 and QS269Replied by i-sells, 08-02-2017#4SuitabilityMorning, If I was to install one of these into a fixed piece of ducting connected to a domestic cooker extract unit would the air movement be strong enough to open the shutter Many thanks
Question by Peter Smith, 23-03-2018Hello Peter
Thank you for your question. Yes the air movement will open the shutter, it has to be installed within the duct run. In domestic cases the plastic back draught shutter is used QS303. If I can help any further please do not hesitate to contact me.Kind RegardsAnitaReplied by i-sells, 23-03-2018#5150mm metal back draft damperCan this be used with 150mm plastic duct and can it be mounted vertically? I accept some fettling may be required.
Question by Martin Barry, 28-04-2021Hi Martin, and thanks for your question. Yes it can be used with plastic ducting, and it can be sited vertically or horizontally. It is a better backdraught shutter than the plastic one to be honest.

Kindest regards,Marc.Replied by i-sells, 28-04-2021#7Fits inside duct?Does this need to be used like a coupler between two pieces of duct or is it designed to be fully pushed inside a single piece of duct? Is there a rubber sealing ring around the outside to achieve a good seal between this and the duct (like the Safe system)?
Question by Martin Holmes, 03-05-2021Hi Martin,
Thanks for your question.- Male Fitting - Will fit inside the i-sells range of 150mm Spiral Ducting
It can be pushed down a single length. There is not a rubber seal - so its not part of the safe system it is designed to be a tight fit for the spiral ducting.I hope that helps to answer your question.Best RegardsChrisReplied by i-sells, 04-05-2021#8Robber sealingDoes it have a robber seal?
Question by Andrea, 01-09-2023Good morning Andrea. It has a rubber seal where the shutters close, but no rubber seals on the outside.
