Installation is made simple through Svara’s Bluetooth-enabled App allowing you to choose whether to opt for intermittent or continuous ventilation; whether you would like the humidistat

    Functions

    Light sensor
When the light sensor is enabled Svara senses when someone is in the room and then activates. Its sophisticated light sensor is triggered by light movement and shadows. It is possible to set a delayon so the fan is not triggered by the light during quick night time bathroom visits. The light sensor can also distinguish between headlight flashes from cars and room occupancy, so it is not triggered by passing cars, avoiding nuisance running. The sensitivity of the light sensor can be adjusted via the App.

    Overrun Timer
The light sensor provides an overrun timer but only requires a live and neutral. In houses where there is only a basic fan installed, the homeowner can upgrade to a timer fan without having to rewire.

    Humidistat
Svara features a humidistat which reacts to sharp changes in humidity, for instance when someone is taking a shower. When set to continuous running, once the humidity sensor is activated the fan runs at 30l/s until humidity returns to normal levels then the fan powers down to 10l/s. Ambient humidity changes will not trigger the humidistat. It is possible to change the sensitivity of the humidity sensor via the App.

    Smart Calendar
The Smart Calendar allows you to activate Svara on particular days via the App, for instance, it can be turned off during a holiday period. Alternatively during a vacation, you can set Svara to an airing mode which operates a purge function every 12 hours for either 30, 60 or 90 minutes depending on selection. However, Svara’s sophisticated controls, will not purge if the light sensor detects that there is someone in the house.

    Aesthetics and Silence

The name Svara takes its influence from the fan’s Swedish heritage – a country well known for iconic and well thought out designs. Consumers will be attracted to Svara’s good looks with its sleek modern design plus with noise a key issue.

For consumers, households will also be impressed by Svara’s quiet running, operating at just 17 dBA on low trickle. It is also easy to clean as the central module disconnects the motor from the rest of the fan allowing it to be simply wiped with a soft cloth, and at only 4W the energy-efficient Svara also boasts low power consumption.

    One model fits all

Vent-Axia Svara is programmed to cope with the vast majority of installations. The fan is set as default to work continuously at a trickle flow of 10l/s.

When the fan senses somebody in the room it increases the flow to 19l/s. If the humidity rises rapidly, for example when the shower is on, the fan goes up to maximum flow at 30l/s.

When the fan senses the humidity level has returned to normal it reverts to the trickle flow of 10l/s.

If other settings or functions are desired, they can be selected through the Vent Axia Connect App which can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play.

Initially had an Airflow Icon 30 which electrically died on me 2-3 years in, a common problem I later found reading through online reviews. Good noise level though and moved a lot of air (good CFM). Replaced that with an Xpelair C4HTS "Simply Silent" fan. Not silent at all and I think I could have blown air out of the bathroom quicker. It developed a fault maybe 6 months in where after being triggered by the humidistat it wouldn't turn off, for hours, sometimes even ever! Until it was physically isolated/switched off from power. That's when my story with the Vent Axia Svara begins, I read a few reviews and was sold on its apparent reliability, accuracy and easy of setup/config. And that's no lie ladies and gentlemen, it really is worth every penny. I only had to connect a live & neutral cable and we were away, the humidistat is so much more accurate, it comes on shortly after starting the shower and doesn't stay on for too long after. It's much quieter but still pushing 30l/s of [Read More..]

Brilliant product. The sensitivity to humidity is just right. It does not stay on for hours or trigger just because it is raining outside, unlike the various other humidistat fans I have tried. In low trickle mode it is so quiet you have to go right up to it to hear it, even in a silent room. The free bluetooth app makes it much easier to set up and change settings when compared to all other fans I've tried, as there is no need to get any tools out.

    Fan exhaust

Is there a back flow shutter to combat backdraught on windy days?

    Question by Kerry McCandlish, 24-01-2016

    Hi Kerry,

The actual fan does not have a backdraught shutter but it can be ordered separately here: 100mm Back draught Shutter.

    Flexible Ducting Meters Max?

Can it be ducting and if so, how long can be the flexible ducting in a straight run / 2 right angle bends ?

    Question by Seb Plut, 05-05-2016

    Hi Seb,

The airflow performance of the fan would be greatly reduced. The round right angle bends have a 5.6 PA which means they will do most of the reduction of airflow. Also a flexible ducting hose is more inconsistent with airflow than a plastic ducting pipe, and will further reduce the performance. Lastly the cowl on the outside would block of any airflow left and the fan will not perform.

For this Svara fan, it is suggested to only use a straight duct pipe at most, perhaps with a single bend for the best airflow litres per second.

You can see the Svara Airflow performance Chart, add 5.6PA for each bend and another 5-10PA for the grille/cowl. This does not include the pipe (0.50PA) or flexible duct varied PA. You will notice the more PA, the less the airflow. (These figures based on 100mm round ducting).

For your required installation I would suggest an In Line Fan.

Please note the information provided should only be used as a guideline.

    Hope that helps!

Ducting for Vent Axia Lo-Carbon Svara Bathroom and Kitchen Axial Fan

I live in a flat and want to replace a faulty fan in the bathroom (with no outside wall). Would this be suitable as the ducting consists of a short flexi hose attached to a rigid pipe between the walls that disappears up into the ceiling. The ducting is approx 3 inches in diameter. If not please can you advise the best fan. It would be a very big/costly job to install new ducting.

    Question by Ian Taylor, 08-11-2016

    Hello Ian

You state the current fan is faulty but don't say whether it is working, not working or just can't control the condensation, the answer to this is significant. The Svara is an Axial type fan suited for through the wall installations but tend to work less well through ducting and this is the problem because it is an unknown, the flexi duct is there because the original installer needed to create a seal from the rigid to the fan spigot, all well and good but then the rigid disappears? Do you know where it exhausts or how long the duct is?   In this situation I would recommend  you investigate where the duct run goes before investing in a fan that may not work but then look at Centrifugal type fans that are suited to long ducting such as the VA Solo plus range, either way let us know when you have the information and we may be able to help.
    Regards
    Ian

    Fit into slate roof vent

My shower room has a sloping roof with a slate roof vent straight to the outside. Can the fan be mounted in this setting?

    Question by Suzanne Wyatt, 23-09-2023

Good morning. The Svara can be be ceiling mounted, to a maximum run of 1.5m straight, however, you would require a backdraught shutter at the bottom of the run, and if the duct is in the loft, it would also need to be insulated. You can wrap it with either duct wrap or loft lagging, approx 25mm thick or thereabouts.

    Kind regards,
    Marc
