Is the non-return flap in this item (model DUCSS103) spring loaded or does it rattle in windy weather?

The Damper flap is attached by a wire hinge and is designed to close with the aid of gravity this means it is only suitable for wall mounted applications.
Would this be suitable to provide air flow for a gas fire or does the flap require a fan to push the flap open?
Thank you for your question. This item does require air to open the flap. We recommend a black hole ventilator for gas fires if you know how much free air is required. Here are two options for you.
looking at the reviews - I can see that this is cowl is not flat to the wall but does the hinge shut at 90 degrees
