I can't see any difference between this shutter and others available on line at a quarter of the price as details are in short supply. Perhaps you could advise me of the differences as this is being installed in a domestic MHVR system
Hello Keith
Thank you for your question. The product you are looking at is made from pre-galvanised steel with spring-loaded vanes of aluminium. We also do plastic backdraught shutters. They both do the same job and you have a two choices to choose from.
Can this backdraught shutter be mounted in a horizontal position? Thanks!
Hello Francis
Thank you for your question. Yes it can be fitted horizontally.
DO YOU HAVE OR CAN I OBTAIN A RECTANGULAR BACK DRAUGHT SHUTTER IN PLASTIC TO FIT MANROSE SYSTEM 125. THE SIZE IS 150X70MM
Morning, If I was to install one of these into a fixed piece of ducting connected to a domestic cooker extract unit would the air movement be strong enough to open the shutter Many thanks
Hello Peter
Can this be used with 150mm plastic duct and can it be mounted vertically? I accept some fettling may be required.
Hi Martin, and thanks for your question. Yes it can be used with plastic ducting, and it can be sited vertically or horizontally. It is a better backdraught shutter than the plastic one to be honest.

Does this need to be used like a coupler between two pieces of duct or is it designed to be fully pushed inside a single piece of duct? Is there a rubber sealing ring around the outside to achieve a good seal between this and the duct (like the Safe system)?
Hi Martin,
Does it have a robber seal?
Good morning Andrea. It has a rubber seal where the shutters close, but no rubber seals on the outside.
