No loft? No problem - Combat condensation in your property with this powerful Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) unit.
This unit has a heater on the Left-hand side.
When ordering please ensure you choose the correct unit.
Specify whether you want the heater input airflow on the Left (Flatmaster 2000L) or Right side (Flatmaster 2000R).
There are two versions, Left and Right. The version you need will depend on which side of the house/wall the unit can be fitted. Check the above diagram, the heater (Marked in red) should always be pointing to the inside of the house. See the Flatmaster 2000R Right Unit.
The unit is designed to take fresh air from outside, clean the air, warm it (if fitted with heater) and discharge it into the central hallway via a system of ducting supplied by the installer. The dwelling internal air discharge grille is usually installed at a high level in a central location within the hallway, although discharging the air down the length of the hallway (away from the front door) should also prove acceptable.
Unit performance may be enhanced if an existing heat source can warm the discharged air eg. by locating the discharge grille above a radiator.
If additional heating of the incoming air is required e.g. during very cold weather, the integral heater can be used to distribute filtered, warmed air throughout the property.
Based on the popular and low-energy Positive Input Ventilation principle which Nuaire invented in 1972, the Flatmaster 2000 range has been specifically designed to ventilate homes without lofts. The unit is fitted with an integral heater which can provide additional heating when required during very cold weather.
The PIV system introduces air into the home at a continuous low rate, eliminating condensation dampness and forcing our indoor pollutants such as Radon gas and carbon monoxide. The results are a fresh and healthy indoor environment.
The aesthetically pleasing and compact unit is usually situated in a convenient location, such as a kitchen cupboard or hallway, and is ducted to a central location. Multi-positional spigots allow for quicker installation with only one external wall penetration.

I have had a FLATMASTER 2000L installed today, I notice there is a red switch on the right hand side is this the switch for the heater?
Hi Gerry,
Are they fairly simple to install or do I need an electrician.
Hello Eileen,
The unit is very simple to install but we would always recommend that any electrical work carried out in your property is carried out by a qualified electrician to the correct standards, no matter the complexity of the work involved.
Full fitting instructions for the unit can be viewed here for your reference: http://www.i-sells.co.uk/fdm_file_detail.php?file_id=170
Kind regards,
Michael
Can the 2000L or 2000R be installed rotated 90 degrees so the inlet and discharge ducts are vertical? My inlet duct may have to come from under the floor. Thanks
Hello Andrew,
How do I know whether I need a left or right side version? Is the duct into the flat best installed very close to a wall? I have a flat that has a small hallway with a false ceiling above it, can I install the unit in that space? And duct to outside for incoming air and into the kitchen (rather than the small hallway, as there is a door inbetween hallway and kitchen) for output? Thank you
Hello Corinna,
The quickest way to explain would be to compare the two diagrams on the Flatmaster 2000L and Flatmaster 2000R listings, but I think it might be best for me to give you a quick call to explain and to discuss your other points.
Do you have a direct number that I could contact you on, and when might it be suitable to call?
Kind regards,
Michael

Hi, what size rectangular ducting can be used with this system? What ducting adapters are provided with the unit?
Hello Brian
Thank you for your question.
As shown in the picture the unit is provided with optional spigots for use with either Kair System 100 Round Ducting (100mm) or Kair System 100 Rectangular Ducting (110mm x 54mm).
Both systems can be viewed here
We also are able to supply a packaged ducting kit for the Nuaire Flatmaster. The product code is QS38873 and can be viewed here
Kind regards,
Anita & Michael
I live in a top floor 2 BR flat with a mezzanine floor overlooking the lounge, high ceilings throughout, approx 90m2. Would this be sufficient for that kind of space? Is there anything I need to consider given that it's two floors? Thanks, Peter
Hello Peter
In order to answer your question I need to ask several more??
Does the floor area (90m2) include the upper and lower levels?
Do you have a loft space?
What existing ventilation do you have in the kitchen and bathroom/s and how are each activated?
Are you investigating this unit for improved air quality or do you have a condensation / mould growth problem to eradicate?
How many occupants reside in the property?
Apologies for the interrogation but the answers will help.
Regards
Ian
Can i fit the flat master without an outlet but just using an inlet with air coming from outside. I want to install this in the small hallway as space in an issue??
Hi, we have this type of product in our ground floor flat, does it need any sort of maintenance? as it sounds a little sqeaky when its quiet at night ( like a hamster going around in a wheel) and we wernt sure if to oil anything ? Thanks for your help Sarah
Hi Sarah
This is very expensive and if I bought one I'd probably only ever be able to afford one. So if I had it fit in my flat but at some point moved to a different flat would I be able to take this unit from one flat and then have it installed in the new one?
Hello Cheryl,
The unit is designed to be a fixed solution inside a property, rather than a portable temporary solution.
However, in theory, as long as it was installed in an accessible way the ducting could be disconnected and the unit moved between properties by a qualified electrician (New ducting may need to be purchased). Under no circumstances should the unit itself be dismantled, as this will invalidate the warranty.
As this unit is a 'handed' unit (With the heater on a certain side) you would need to know that the unit could be fitted on the same facing in the other property.
As you say it is a council property I would advise to check with the council housing officer whether they would allow the installation first before proceeding, as they may require permission from the free holder.
Kind regards,
Michael
Can the inlet be installed adjacent to a gas boiler outlet?Perhaps you could indicate the minimum measurement from one to another. Can a bend be used to solve this potential problem?
do i need a unit in each room of 2 bedroom flat do ineed a package of fitments, and do they need to come with a heater, yours a steele
Hello Andrew
Hello. I'm advised to fit one of these in my 63sq metre flat for ventilation. I see that it has a switch for the heater element, but is it also possible to switch the unit on and off. I know it is designed for continuous running, but in the summer my flat is adequately ventilated.
Hi I have had one of these units fitted and it has been connected to a light switch, which my hall way light needs left on all the time is this correct ? As I feel I have been ripped of.
Hello Mrs Heddon
Does the heater run constantly when switched on or does the unit have a temperature probe and switch the heater on / off as required according to the temperature of the air drawn from outdoor.
Hi Rupesh
Your Installation Guide says the unit should be installed as close as possible to the inlet vent. I have a situation where I can install as close as 0.5 m to the vent but will make the possibility of maintenance impossible. I can install with a duct 1.1m from the inlet, will that have an effect on the performance of the unit. Regards, Sandy P.
Hello Sandy
Can you ship to Greece. Naturally I would expect a shipping charge.
Hello Katerina

Hello Jose
My electrician would need to fit a fuse switch into my fuse box, what amp size breaker would be needed for this unit
Hello Mark
We are about to get some units installed in two flats we own. I am curious (as a retired engineer) how the unit performs when outdoors is at 100% or very high humidity, withoiut drawing more moisture into the property. Regards Chuck
Hello Chuck
Thank you for your question, I will try to answer as best I can without refferring to technical jargon.
We are lucky that the UK is in a temperate zone, as far as weather extremes are concerned, and 100% humidity may be achievable in the tropics but not here. This is because humidity is relative to temperature, the warmer the air the greater the capacity to retain water vapour, it is conditions like this that make us feel hot, clammy and uncomfortable.
Even after rainfall we do not generally reach these very high levels of humidity because evaporation of rainwater after a fall iscreated less by evaporation through heat but is usually caused through air drying due to increased airmovement from wind (same effect as drying clothes on a line).
However, let's imagine it is cool enough that we want to put the heating on and keep all of the windows and doors shut, if the incoming air has an outside humidity of 75% at 7 degrees, when introduced to warm environment of 21 degrees the percentage of water vapour to air (RH) will fall. The only time incoming humidity would be a problem would be if the outside air temperature was higher and had a high RH and this air was introduced to a much cooler house, as then RH would rise. As mentioned earlier, this is very rare in a temperate zone.
In short the equipment works in the same way, continuous air change prevents build up of internal humidity and movement causes drying of surface moisture and prevents stagnant damp air pockets.
Hi I have a Drimaster installed at a rental property which has an inbuilt heater with thermostat and is controlled by a remote Humidistat so is only activated above pre-set humidity level. I need a Flatmaster for another property without loft space. I can't find reference to Humidistat control for Flatmaster. Do you supply/recommend one?
Hello Paul
Can the unit itself be installed in the bathroom receiving the entering air from the external vent and passing the air via ducting thru an inner wall to the hallway . My electrician says it depends on the PI specification of the unit?
Hello John
Hi, is it possible to switch off the Flatmaster to only run when I want it to, ie. during the day? The noise it makes when running at night is enough to keep me awake, as the landlord has it installed in a bedroom cupboard. Thanks!
