Typical Range Specifications
Supply and install the ACM range of commercial In-line fans as manufactured by Vent-Axia Ltd, Fleming Way, Crawley, West Sussex, RH10 9YX, Telephone: 01293 526062.
The fan should be of the mixed flow design specifically for use with rigid and flexible ducting with energy efficiency and low sound levels in mind. The fan shall be fitted within the ducted system and isolated from the building structure by means of Anti- Vibration mountings.
The fans should be dimensionally compact saving weight and installation costs. The casing should be manufactured from galvanised sheet steel and manufacture is controlled to BS EN ISO 9001.
The fan should be fully speed controllable by using a variable speed controller.
The fan should be controlled by humidity, air quality or PIR sensor.
The fan motor should be removable by means of 2 Clip Bands for ease of maintenance.
Motors should have ball bearings greased for life to allow the fan to be installed at any angle and should have Class B insulation to allow the fan to work satisfactorily in ambient air temperatures from -5°C to +50°C and should be fitted with Standard Thermal Overload Protection (S.T.O.P.).

Question by Andrew Plunkett, 25-08-2016Hello AndrewTo answer the question we would need to know more:-Initially..Are there any bends in the duct?Any other resistance to air flow?Any dampers? What is at each end of the duct?Is it designed to move air or would there be any particulates carried through it?How long would the fan be expected to run at the volume you quote? Thanks in advance.IanReplied by i-sells, 26-08-2016#3Hot air & fume extractionWhat are the blades made of? Im looking to extract hot fumes from a fireplace and need impellers that can cope with the temp?
Question by marty, 12-11-2021Hi Marty. The blades will be made from plastic, and most inline fans will have a temperature rating of between 60-80 degree celcius. If the fan is taking high temperatures, then you may need to look at a bifurcation fan, or look at mounting another type of fan further down the duct run.
Which ever fan you choose, you would need to know what the temperature is likely to be as the air moves through the fan. Also, duct run length is another thing to consider, as the ACM250 can only cope with 5m of straight duct. Any 90 degree bends equate to adding 1m to the duct run in terms of resistance.Kindest regards,Marc.Replied by i-sells, 12-11-2021 -
