#1Cold Air coming down ductWe have a Siemens kitchen canopy connected to a 150 dia duct sticking through a flat roof with a SS cowl. We are getting cold air coming down the pipe when the fan is not on. Will this stop it? and will the extract have enough power to open the shutter. Or should we use the SS one?
Question by Paul Custers, 25-01-2016Hello Paul
Thank you for your question. The stainless steel or plastic damper will do your application.
Replied by i-sells, 26-01-2016#2Draft through extractor fanWe have an extractor fan going straight through the kitchen wall. When it is windy it whistles through making a loud howling noise. Will this stop it and will the fan be strong enough to open it.
Question by John Younger, 16-09-2016Hello John
The product you have selected is designed to be installed within the duct which may be difficult. It sounds like the outside vent is open to free air and prevailing winds so I would suggest a Cowled wall outlet. To view the product type QS6170 into the search bar.I have selected the same duct size as you but you may want to check what size the duct is at the outlet.I hope this helps.IanReplied by i-sells, 16-09-2016#3150mm damperWe are fitting a new cooker extractor & the ducting has to go up into the roof space and out through a tile vent. Can this product be used horizontally and vertically? And does it close on its own when the fan is not on?
