#1MountingCan the fan be fixed into the bathroom wall so that the steam is taken outside?
Question by peter robinson, 11-07-2015Hi Peter,
This fan can be mounted at any angle, but is usually installed with additional ducting attached to either sides of it. See page 2 of the installation instructions here, which will give you more information about it.From your question, I think you are looking for an extractor fan and not an inline fan, which can be fixed into the bathroom wall. See our bathroom fans here.Replied by i-sells, 13-07-2015#2Bathroom extractor fanDo you also supply ventaxia ACM100T 17104020 and if so how much is it? can this be put into the bathroom wall so that the steam is taken outside?
Question by peter robinson, 11-07-2015Hi Peter,
Yes here is a link to the Vent-Axia ACM100T which has a built in timer, It can be placed in a bathroom, but may require additional ducting. See my previous answer about the installation instructions.Replied by i-sells, 13-07-2015#3Vertical duct length distanceIs there a maximum duct length for the extractor? I'm looking to run a 6m rigid duct length in total vertically. How much will it affect the performance?
Question by Chandra K Chhetri, 25-01-2016Hello Chandra
Thank you for your question. The ACM fan does a 8mtr straight duct run and a 6mtr duct run with two bends. The ACM Mixed Flow In-Line fan can operate in both horizontal and vertical positions and can be mounted to meet its optimum performance.
Replied by i-sells, 26-01-2016#4humidistat controlis this humidistat controlled or timer or both
Question by foulds, 04-02-2016Hello Chung,
This unit is a 'standard' in-line fan without over-run timer which is designed to be switched, or used with an optional controller.
If you are looking for an optional humidistat you could use the Kair Humidistat Controller.
Kind regards,

Is this fan suitable and is there a non return valve arrangement that would prevent the back fill of odour from the waste or soil pipe? many thanks
Question by Stephen Wills, 08-02-2016Hello Stephen
Thank you for your question. If your duct run is 8mtrs straight or 6mtr with two bends then this fan will do you application. The backdraught shutter is product code QS256 you may also require product code DOM120.

Replied by i-sells, 08-02-2016#6Fan PositioningHi I am currently in the middle of a loft conversion and the layout will be open plan where the bedroom and shower area to the back is without a door. I plan on having a walk in shower that is enclosed from floor the ceiling. In this scenario would the fan be better of inside this area or outside? Thanks
Question by Omar, 15-03-2016Hello Omar
Thank you for your question. The in-line fan can be situated inside or outside the area and ducted to the extract valve. Could you advise me how long your duct run is from the area to the outside wall.
Kind Regards
Anita
Replied by i-sells, 16-03-2016#7ThermostatHi What thermostat would you recommend to operate this product Thanks
Question by Tony Hinds, 25-11-2016Hi TonyThere is a ThermoSwitch that the manufacturer says is suitable for all VA fans and can be set to activate when temperature falls or risesType QS3117 in the Quick Search bar to find, I hope this is what you are looking forReplied by i-sells, 25-11-2016#8Fan wiringCan this be wired to an extractor fan so that when the extractor fan is switched on the inline comes on at the same time I want to assist the extractor fan in removing steam etc, so my intention is to put this in the middle of the ducting run as the extractor is not strong enough by itself
Question by Andrew Gibbons, 02-01-2017Hello Andrew
Your question raises several others.Firstly if you connected this unit to any other manufacturers product it would cancel all guarantees and warranties. The in-line fan is quite powerful and if the duct run is 6m or less it may be capable of controlling the problem without the existing fan?If the existing fan is another make and you still want two units in tandem feasibly you could wire the second unit to a second switch adjacent to the existing one and activate them at the same time.Replied by i-sells, 05-01-2017#9WiringHi I know this might seem a stupid question, dose it connect to the lighting circuit or a ring main
Question by Dave Cole, 17-01-2017Hello Dave

The answer is yes and we are showing 24 in stockReplied by i-sells, 26-01-2017#11Can this be a constant trickle fan?Hi, can this be used as a constant trickle extract fan, and boost with a light? thank you
Question by Zoe Allen, 20-12-2018Hello Zoe
The data sheet for this indicates the flow rate is activated by a Vent Axia variable speed controller so we would suggest it is not suitable to connect to a light switch. For a constant running in line fan that is suitable for your required operation, and a comparable price, we would recommend the MEVDC2 (search QS38814)Replied by i-sells, 20-12-2018#13Needed for loft extraction with thermostatDear Sir or Madam, I would like to use this fan to extract warm air from my loft on hot days. It would be 'in line' with about 2m of ducting each side with two bends max. Could you please tell me whether the unit is compatible with a thermostat, and if so whether you stock the appropriate one? Regards and thanks
Question by Pete, 13-07-2019Hello Pete
The ducting you intend to install will not compromise the efficiency of the unit and VA have a universal Thermoswitch that they say is compatible with all VA fans, you can view this by searching QS3117.Remember you can only extract overheated air from the loft if the loft is well ventilated so you may need to roll back loft insulation from overhanging eaves or soffit vents.Replied by i-sells, 15-07-2019#14Simple switchHi, can this be wired to a simple on/off switch?
