#1DampersIs a damper the same as a back-draught mechanism to avoid wind & rain blowing back into the kitchen? Thanks, GW
Question by G.Walsh, 24-05-2016Hello Gerard
Thank you for your question. Yes the damper and back draught shutter do the same job they will stop air blowing back in.
Kind Regards
Anita
Replied by i-sells, 24-05-2016#2Fixing to external wallHow do I fix it to the external wall? If I use screws, will they be exposed?
Question by DF, 03-01-2018Hello DF
The rear spigot is inserted into the ducting that would terminate at the wall and is a tight fit. The vent would not have to screwed to the outside wall and it should be sufficient to create a seal / fixing using builders caulk or mastic.Replied by i-sells, 04-01-2018#3flexible ductingHi, Is it possible to fix flexible ducting to this airbrick or does it need an adaptor?
Question by John, 21-02-2018Hello John
It depends on the flexible duct you have, if it is round 150mm then the answer is no and you would have to use QS366, the rectangular end would fit over the airbrick and QS284 would convert the female round end to fit round 150mm duct.Replied by i-sells, 23-02-2018#4Mounting in eaveThe pictures show this mounted vertically - is it OK to mount horizontally, facing down, in an eave ? Thanks
Question by Iain, 22-04-2018Hello Iain
The only problem with changing the orientation of this item to a downward facing elevation will be the back draught shutter will always be in the open position.Replied by i-sells, 23-04-2018 -
