Featuring an integrated non-return backdraft damper and supplied with screws and cowl-to-wall rubber gasket, this stylish steel wall extractor hood vent outlet has an unobtrusive profile.
Manufactured from Grade 304 Stainless Steel
A cushioned low noise flap prevents unwanted sounds from being heard from within the property.
This also features a gravity flap to prevent small mammals and birds from accessing the ducting attached to it.
The gravity flap is stylishly covered by the square shape cowl and in doing so, offers more of an aesthetic appearance than most traditional plastic grilles.
Stainless steel Cowles offer greater weatherproofing, and are not affected by ultraviolet rays like some plastics can be.
The grille can be cleaned using any stainless steel cleaner.Ideal for all tumble dryer vent pipes / hoses, bathroom vents & extractors, air conditioning units, kitchen fans & vents, home wall vents, heat transfer & ventilation systems, gas & electric dryers, cooker hood extractors, as well as a wide variety of industrial uses.

Great product, but if you have a straight wall the door doesn't stay closed when there is no air coming out of your extractor fan, it just knocks every few seconds and is really annoying. -

This was purchased to replace an old, and in windy conditions very noisy, plastic vent. Installation was a simple matter; and whilst the non-return flap in the new vent does make a noise when it's windy (reflected in the four-star rating: if I could do so I'd give it four-and-a half) it's a lot quieter than the old one. The vent looks very smart and being stainless steel this won't suffer UV degradation as did the plastic one 9and should be easy to clean when the time comes). Overall, pleased with the product and very pleased with the service from i-sells. -

The Exterior of the vent is fine and well made but the hinged part of the flat was flimsy. The unit had to be tilted to about 80 degrees to make the flap close. I fiddled with the hinge and the flap stayed open at the vertical angle. I didn't want to bother posting it back because I suspected that a replacement might not be any better. I decided to install it at this non vertical angle as it is at the top of the house and no-one will notice. I had to put a spacer under it and put extra mortar in over the bottom open aspect. If you purchase, ask the supplier to check that the flap closes at vertical 90 degree angle.

The Damper flap is attached by a wire hinge and is designed to close with the aid of gravity this means it is only suitable for wall mounted applications.

Thank you for your question. This item does require air to open the flap. We recommend a black hole ventilator for gas fires if you know how much free air is required. Here are two options for you.

Hopefully I have understood the question?This is a weather cowl (protection from wind and rain) and the flap is opened by air pressure from a powered fan, when the fan is not operating the flap will close by means of gravity. If your question regarding "90 degrees" means your intention is to rotate the cowl to the left or right, the flap would not close.Replied by i-sells, 08-08-2019#5Inlet or outlet?Is this an inlet vent or outlet? Thank you for your question. This vent is for external use only. The cowl is designed for the wind to bounce off and there is a damper within the cowl to stop the blow back of air. Question by James Gibbons, 31-07-2022Hi James, there is a backdraught damper behind the cowl that closes when the fan is not in use. This grill does not have or require a mesh as the damper flap does will be in closed position when the fan is not in use.
