#1Is the silencer suitable for me?Hi. I have a new MHR system which uses 100mm ducting, but the long runs to the bedrooms are too noisy. Would this be suitable? I think the flow rate is about 10-15/s. Questions: 1. There does not seem to be any difference in the sound performance of 50 over 100mm. Is this a mistake? 2. Would fitting at the start of a long straight run rather than close to vent exit be OK? 3. Do you do customer size (800mm length) as these are made to order.
Question by Jonathan Powell, 01-04-2021Hi Jonathan
Sorry for the delay in responding to you as we are having problems with the new systemWhat i need to know is what system that you have installed as this will help me to advised you if the silencer would be ok to fitwhich is normally fitted going to the outside as most complaints are from the neighboursRegards StanReplied by i-sells, 09-04-2021#2NV250H noise levelsI have a similar question, we have installed a MV250H in a customers house it is ducting from 3 rooms with 100mm rigid duct and is extremely noisy when the humidistat boosts the extract speed. there doesn't seem to be any way to control the fan speed as the humidistat overrides the remote control so would 3 of these solve the noise issues we have?
Question by Iain, 31-01-2023Good morning Iain.
Silencers in the duct run will help to dampen the sound that travels down the ducts, but it will create a bit of resistance, as you are adding to a duct run. How is the unit mounted? If it is mounts directly to the beams, it could well be vibration noise that travels down the ducts. By having rubber mat between the unit and the beams, should absorb quite a bit of excess noise. That might be worth trying first as it could work out to be a cheap fix.Kind regards,MarcReplied by i-sells, 01-02-2023 -
