DETAILS
KAIR 4 INCH / 100MM WHITE POWDER-COATED METAL ADJUSTABLE CEILING AIR EXTRACT VALVE
High-quality white powder-coated metal 4 inches / 100mm adjustable ceiling air extract vent. The airflow is adjusted by rotating the control disc. Male spigot will fit inside Kair 100mm Round Pipe (Part: "DUCVKC250") or 102mm Flexible Hose (Part: "DUCP0092/102/35").
Discreet modern design which is suitable for flush fitting against ceilings and walls. Designed to extract air. If you are looking to supply air we recommend using a supply valve (Part: "DUCMW105").
Aesthetically pleasing wipe-clean design. Suitable for internal use in compliance with Part F Building Regulations. If you are looking for a Fire Rated Extract Valve you will need the Fire Rated version of this product (Part: "DUCMW104FRE").
- Mounting ring manufactured in 0.6mm thick galvanised steel with four 3mm fixing holes.
- The valve body is supplied with a cellular plastic gasket to form an air-tight seal.
- The airflow is adjusted by rotating the control disc and locking with a lock nut when set.

Good quality product. Looks good. However the on site instructions are misleading. It states that ducting should be pulled through the ceiling cut out and attached to the aluminium insert before fixing it to the ceiling. How is this possible as the duct plus the clamp will be much bigger than the 10cm cut out? I had to attach the duct from the loft. No fixing screws were provided in my delivery and those required are exceptionally small necessitating an extra visit to the local hardware shop. I think that sealant is necessary around the aluminium insert to achieve the best fitting. The lip on the fixing could also be bigger and the screw holes slightly bigger in my opinion. Once the aluminium insert is in place the white cover fits easily. -

Good quality and easily fitted. The screw holes of inner section are small and positioned close to 100mm hole cut through the ceiling, so it may be problematic to fit if you can't screw directly into the ceiling board. -

The ventilation terminal was of very good quality which I'm happy with ,the only trouble is it arrived dented so I had to either send it back and put off the job or bend it back, I did the later and managed to get it looking round. I was quite surprised it was bent as it is thick gauge steel and I was also surprised it arrived in a Jiffy bag? -

Thank you for your question.
The valve is fitted by unscrewing the back part off. This part is then fitted into the hole that has been cut and screwed to the plasterboard or ceiling the front part then screws back on.

There is also a plastic version of this which would be the better choice in a high moisture creating environment as plastic has better thermal qualities and there is always the possibility of condensation forming on the actual metal vent.Once installed in the ceiling there is very little visible difference. Thank you for your question. This is an extract valve which is installed in the ceiling and then ducted to an in-line fan which extracts the room. If you have held a tissue up to the valve and nothing has happened i can only assume that it is not fitted to anything and just been installed or if there is an in-line fan it has stopped working.
