Thanks.answer nowA Good morning Phil.The fan can be ceiling mounted, and when doing so, a lot of people remove the pull cord. Be careful not to activate the switch when doing so, as it will put the fan onto maximum boost, which is what it is designed for.You wouldnt need to wire it to a separate switch, but can sire it to the lighting circuit. We would recommend install be made by a qualified electrician as pet the manufacturers installation instructions, as some of the features wont work properly.Kind regards, Marc
