If the loft space is ventilated and the doors have a 10mm gap or the doors are left ajar and the kitchen has a ducted cooker hood then the Driamster range will do your application.

The diffuser should be the same size in order to make replacement of the unit easy, however I cannot guarantee it. I will send you an email, if you reply with the measurements of your old unit I can confirm the dimensions for you.

It would really depend on your personal usage as everyone would have different ventilation requirements. So far we have not had any complaints or negative comments regarding the energy usage of our PIV units but we cannot give an exact figure.

It is fine if the doors are closed as long as there is a 1cm gap under the door frame to allow the fresh air to be supplied into the bedrooms.

It would be likely that the unit is taking in the stale smells from your loft as it could be that its not well enough ventilated, the PIV unit works by bringing in fresh air from the outside. The filters need to be changed every year, but you say that the unit has only been used for 3 hours so the filters shouldn't be a problem. If you want to have a ducted unit then you would need to change the unit completely and then add the ducting.

The Drimaster Basic Unit has the controls on the unit in the loft space and the diffuser in the hall will be blank. There is a remote monitoring device that can be used with the heated version of the unit or the basic Eco Link unit (No Heater), The remote monitoring device will allow readings to be taken from outside the property to determine how long the unit has been running and the operating speed of the unit. This will benefit the social housing provider when checks are carried out to ensure measures put in place to alleviate condensation issues are being adhered to, without having to enter the property. The Drimaster range is to be installed in a well ventilated loft space, The diffuser is situated in the hallway which is the central point for the fresh air to be disburse to the whole of the property.

Do you have extractor fans in your kitchen and bathrooms? as those are the main areas that cause condensation due to the wetness 

If you don't have fans we would recommend getting our Kair smart fan for the bathrooms and kitchen.

Unfortunately you cannot retrofit the non-heated version to a heated version. Please be aware, the heater is only 400w, so it will only take the edge off the temperature of the incoming air when it is cold.
