Thermostatically regulated, with the vent size adjusting according to the temperature outside. As the temperature decreases the damper closes, opening again as the temperature rises. The built-in thermostat regulates the size of the damper opening so that it starts to close at 10°C and is completely closed at -5°C.
Supplied with acoustically damped pipe for applications requiring low noise levels. All versions come with a standard general duty filter. Replacement filters are available.
Freshvent 100 is a range of passive ventilators that simply and naturally provide the effective ventilation needed by everyone working and living in an indoor environment. When used with positive pressure ventilation, Freshvent 100 provides an important outlet for air circulating around the house. Stale air is expelled through the unit to the outside without letting in noise and draughts.
This makes Freshvent 100 particularly suited to the ‘tight’ construction of new homes - and provides a stylish alternative to traditional slot/airbrick type ventilators. In addition, Freshvent 100 is ideal for older properties that have been refurbished with double glazing and loft insulation. They require ventilation to combat the problems associated with condensation.
Kitchens, utility rooms, bathrooms and toilets are rooms where conventional domestic extract fans are normally found. The natural ventilation principle of Freshvent 100 is particularly suitable for ‘clean’ living spaces such as bedrooms, lounges and work rooms.

Please could you tell me the minimum wall thickness needed ? Would like to use several though a roof stucture and attach to existing slate vents if possible
Hello Mr Denson,
I have checked with Vent Axia and they were not able to advise on the minimum wall thickness for the Freshvent 100DB, only the maximum thickness of 400mm.
As the unit is purely a passive ventilator with no motors or electrical parts it may be possible for you to cut the unit down to size. How thick is the wall in question?
I am looking for a good quality passive air vent, I need the type that can be extended to go through a 9" brick wall plus a new insulated cavity so overall wall thickness is about 20". Can you help with this please ?
Thank you for your question. There are two of the Vent Axia products that will do your application. Product code 453200 which does 360mm wall thickness and will require 1x Extension Bushing 453275 or 453182 which does 320mm wall thickness and will require 2x Extension Bushings.
If I can help any further please do not hesitate to contact me on 0208 463 9683
we are refurbishing & insulating an old house. Condensation has built up in the cellar (despite airbricks). Would this product or another one help our problem? (cellar otherwise dry)
