NUAIRE FLATMASTER 2000R RIGHT HANDED POSITIVE PRESSURE UNIT WITH PRE-HEAT FUNCTIONALITY

No loft? No problem - Combat condensation in your property with this powerful Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) unit.

This unit has a heater on the right-hand side.

When ordering please ensure you choose the correct unit.
Specify whether you want the heater input airflow on the Left (Flatmaster 2000L) or Right side (Flatmaster 2000R).

Nuaire Flatmaster 2000 Right side heater
There are two versions, Left and Right. The version you need will depend on which side of the house/wall the unit can be fitted. Check the above diagram, the heater (Marked in red) should always be pointing to the inside of the house. See the Flatmaster 2000R Left Unit.

The unit is designed to take fresh air from outside, clean the air, warm it (if fitted with heater) and discharge it into the central hallway via a system of ducting supplied by the installer. The dwelling internal air discharge grille is usually installed at a high level in a central location within the hallway, although discharging the air down the length of the hallway (away from the front door) should also prove acceptable.

Unit performance may be enhanced if an existing heat source can warm the discharged air eg. by locating the discharge grille above a radiator.

If additional heating of the incoming air is required e.g. during very cold weather, the integral heater can be used to distribute filtered, warmed air throughout the property.

Based on the popular and low-energy Positive Input Ventilation principle which Nuaire invented in 1972, the Flatmaster 2000 range has been specifically designed to ventilate homes without lofts. The unit is fitted with an integral heater which can provide additional heating when required during very cold weather.

The PIV system introduces air into the home at a continuous low rate, eliminating condensation dampness and forcing our indoor pollutants such as Radon gas and carbon monoxide. The results are a fresh and healthy indoor environment.

The aesthetically pleasing and compact unit is usually situated in a convenient location, such as a kitchen cupboard or hallway, and is ducted to a central location. Multi-positional spigots allow for quicker installation with only one external wall penetration.

    Features & Benefits:

    • Cures condensation dampness - PIV removes humidity from the air, preventing mould growth and controlling dust-mite allergens.
    • Improves indoor air quality - pollutants are removed while outdoor pollutants including pollen and Radon gas are kept to a minimum.
    • Meets Regulations - meets Part F & L of Building Regulations as a low-energy ventilation strategy.
    • Integral heater - thermostatically controlled heater with manual override, to warm the incoming air and help heat the home when required.
    • Extremely low power consumption - as low as 5 watts.
    • Easy installation and very low maintenance - filter clean or replacement every 18 months
    • Manual boost switch - for additional ventilation when required
    • 5-year warranty - for peace of mind.
    • 300-watt heater
    • Running costs between 5 and 10p per day dependent on electrical supplier and heating and speed setting.

Very pleased with extremely quick delivery and good price. Unit running well so far, replacing an old one which became noisy after 10 years. An extremely effective way of reducing condensation and damp in a flat by creating positive air pressure with slightly warmed air. Low running costs Worth paying extra for the 2000 as it has a thermostat.

    damp/condensation

I have a 1 bed part basement flat and my surveyor has highlighted the problems I have.I need a unit but don't know where to position it.My bathroom which is most of the problem has a hall running off it which is damp, this leads to my front door.I have a grill vent above the door currently but the external walls are approx 500mm thick and stone.I have no other means of connecting ducting to the outside, only the space above my front door which is about 300mm deep. Can you help me please? Regards Rick

    This vs Heat Recovery

Hi I live in a ground floor flat, with solid wall. The building suffers from condensation, and some mold from condensation. FYI I have extraction in the kitchen and bathroom. I currently have a heat recovery unit in my hall, but this does not seem to solve the issue. Admittedly we only run it in the day as it is slightly too loud for nighttime. I am considering trying a flatmaster 2000 in replacement of the heat recovery unit, but I am still struggling to see what the fundamental differences are between PIV and Heat recover...can you explain this? If the heat recover unit isn't solving the issue, is it then highly unlikely that this PIV will either? I don't want to spend £400 installing something that is basically the same thing. Please can you offer some advise. FYI the issue is definitely condensation related. Many Thanks

    Fitting the unit

Hi On the installation picture the unit is shown fitted with height and length ways being the longest and depth being the narrowest. I need to fit it in a small hallway which has 4 doors in it so there is no way to fit as the picture above shows. Is it possible to fit so that it would be flat against a ceiling thus making width and depth the biggest with height being the smallest? Hope that makes sense

    Flatmaster 2000

Hi I have a few questions and would be grateful for some answers. What size are the input and discharge grills? All my rooms have passive air vents. They are installed about 2m from the floor. Would I need to close these if I installed a Flatmaster? I would install the Flatmaster in a cupboard and use ducting to run the air into the living room. The front door opens directly on to the street. The only place that I could realistically install the discharge grill is at ceiling height but within about 400mm from the front door. Would this be okay? The advice is to get an electrician to install the unit. I cannot understand why it could not be run from a cable and plug into a switched socket. Could you advise please? Thanks Patrick

    Question by Patrick Watson, 20-04-2016

    Hello Patrick

Thank you for your question. The extract & supply size are 100mm and 110mm. As for the air vents these will not affect the performance of the unit.

    Heat

I was just wondering, why you might need the heat option? We are in a basement flat, which is fully tanked, we suffer a little bit with condensation, in the winter, when all the windows and doors are closed. Do we need the heated verson, we have central heating for warming our living areas. Thanks Debra

    Question by Debra, 12-10-2016

    Hello Debra

The 2000R introduces air into the dwelling creating balanced air changes through natural leakage and improving performance of existing extracts in bathrooms and kitchens, the heat version is merely to temper incoming air when external temperatures fall below comfort levels and was mainly introduced to stop residents of tenanted properties switching them off during periods of cold weather (and forgetting to turn them back on again).
Your situation is different in that this is for your property so the standard unit should be fine.
    I hope this helps.

    Heater Control

Hi, I like the idea of the heater for warming up cold air. How is the unit controled? i.e. turrning off/on. can the heater be turned off seperately? for example no point in heating in the summer.

    Question by Philip, 21-11-2016

    Hello Philip

The heater is triggered by an adjustable thermostat control so it will only activate when the incoming air falls below a pre set temperature level, it is therefore unlikely to activate during summer months.

What duct do I need to the right?

I am going to purchase and install a right hand 2000, using the rear entry option. can you tell me what duct I need to buy to bend 90 degrees right and go straight ahead 50 cm on the outlet for the air on the right. also does it come with supplied round duct pipe to the outside wall with face plate? thanks, Les

    Question by Leslie, 09-02-2017

    Hello Leslie
The unit comes with 2 speed switch, rear (round) spigot attachment and round/rectangular input spigot options. Depending on the depth of your wall you will need to connect the external grille and rear spigot with a short length of round duct, this can be cut from the same length of short pipe you will need to connect the 90 degree bend to the machine so recommend you keep everything in round, I am sending you a parts list of possible extras in a separate e-mail as this format doesn't accept pictures.

    Outside air

Hi If this unit picks the air up from outside the house, when wet outside will it not pump damp air into the house?

    Question by David Hornby, 20-01-2018

    Hello David

Your question is one that is often posed as it is a logical assumption, it is possiblethat if the outside air is very humid ie wet and warm the air can retain water as vapour however this is usually a summer phenomenon and it is the lack of air movement (breeze) that makes the air clammy and uncomfortable. It would be during a time like this that windows and doors are morelikely to be opened to provide additional air change and by boosting theequipment, continuous air movement would be created which prevents stagnant airpockets and has a drying effect.

Temporary periods of high humidity outsideare not a cause for concern as the RH is relative to temperature and even ifintroduced into the home the higher internal temperature will reduce the RH,even rainy periods during winter do not generally reach very high levels ofhumidity because the air is less able to hold moisture as vapour, duringvery cold periods humidity can drop to 25% - 35%, in winter evaporation of rainwaterafter a fall is created less by heat evaporation but is caused throughincreased air movement through wind (same effect as drying clothes on aline) during these periods when we want to keep all of the windowsand doors shut, but continue to create water vapour, internalhumidity levels are kept stable through strategic use of heating, and controlled air change.

    Ip rating

Does this have an IP rating? is it suitable for bathroom with a shower. the bathroom has a flat roof

    Question by alan tunney, 23-03-2018

    Hello Alan

Thank you for your question. This fan is a Positive Pressure Unit for a flat. It has to be installed near an external wall and ducted into the hall way for the air to filter around the flat. If you just require a extractor fan I would need to know how long the duct run would be if ducting to the flat roof or if you can install a fan straight through the wall. Please give me a call on 0208 463 9683 and I will be happy to go through your requirements with you

    Multiple inlet points

I have a multi room basement, can I bring air flow into multiple rooms or would I need two separate units?

    Question by Tom Fricker, 23-10-2018

    Hello Tom

Thank you for your question. This unit is designed to filter the fresh air into the property via the hall way as this is the central point. The unit needs to be installed near to the external wall and then ducted into the hall way. If you are unable to install this way give us a call and we can have a look at another option for you.

    Hi Mike

The unit comes with a variation of spigot plates, blanking plates in round and rectangular, rear spigot fixing plus a switch, no cable is supplied.
If you click on the image of the unit it will expand and the box contents are in an image below the main one.

    SW wind

Hi, can you answer another question please. I would like to fix this through a south west facing external wall. I live in a very exposed location, would I need to cover the external vent with anything additional, thanks

    Question by Y Porter, 13-08-2019

    Good Morning

Obviously the vent needs to be open for the supply of air into the property, however, if you do live in an exposed area you may want to protect the intake vent with a weather cowl such as QS9793

    Flatmaster 2000R in a bedroom

I am looking to install the Flatmaster 2000R in a bedroom on the wall, is that ok in terms of noise level? or do I need to box the unit in to reduce sound? Also in addition to the Flatmaster 2000R would I need to buy some ducting to the outside wall and some kide of grill to go on outside?

    Question by Tim Thompson, 31-10-2019

Hi Tim. The best place to install it, would be a central hall way that has direct access to the outside. It will need to be ducted to the unit from the outside, and then ducting to one central area. It will then fill the property with fresh filtered air, and it will distribute that air to all rooms in the property.

    Stale air/condensation

Will I need air vents in the rooms for the stale air/condensation to escape out of, if so what type would they be. Thanks Tony

    Question by Anthony Speight, 09-11-2019

    Hello Anthony,

You can add more ventilation to your home if you want to but The Flatmaster should be able to push the air out through natural ventilation that already exist in the house such as windows, air bricks but if you have Fans in your howm they will also help extract the air out too.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

    Flatmaster

I have recently installed the Flatmaster in my basement. Do I still need to use my Ebac di humidifier in conjunction with the flatmaster or can the ebac now be made redundant?

    Question by Nia Williams, 18-02-2022

    Hi Nia.

There should be no need to run a dehumidifier alongside the Flatmaster.
As long as the basement has venting points for moisture to escape from, then the Flatmaster should keep it under control.
    Kind regards,
    Marc

    Filter Changes?

Hi, before buying this, can you please tell me if it’s easy to replace the filter and whether any special equipment is needed as I notice it should be done around once a year?

    Question by Tracy, 20-04-2024

H Tracy. Yes it is pretty easy. You just need to take the front cover off to get access to the filters. You will need to take the cover off before install anyway, as the duct spigots and various fittings will be located inside there to keep them safe in transport.

    Kind regards,
    Marc
