Here at i-sells.co.uk, we are proud to supply a range of excellent Thermal Ducting products to suit any installation need, whether it is for a renovation or a new-build project.
Thermal ducting is perfect for duct runs travelling through colder areas of the property such as lofts to minimise heat loss and prevent condensation formation.
Condensation formed within a duct run can run back towards the fan and cause damage to the motor, potentially causing it to burn out entirely. If formed on the exterior of the ducting, it can cause water damage to any surrounding surfaces.
i-sells provides thermal ducting in pre-insulated lengths, clamshell design and simple push-fit connections, with connectors such as bend and plenum boxes.
All types fully comply with current building regs, are lightweight and easy to install with no tape or sealant required.
They are available in round and rectangular (flat) variations.
It is best used in conjunction with an MVHR system, as by ensuring you retain as much heat as possible within the colder areas of the home, the units can work more efficiently and more heat can be recovered.
The opposite is also true for an HVAC system as these benefit from thermal ducting by retaining the cool temperature within the duct run. As the temperature is maintained, the true benefit of the HVAC system can be felt, and less energy is required to maintain the low temperature of the air being transported.
Installation of rigid insulated ducting is simple, with either push-fit connections or by click and lock connection over already existing plastic ducting runs.
Thermal ducting is crafted using expanded polystyrene (EPS), with some brands expanding upon this with the use of graphite impregnation and infrared reflectors to further improve the heat-retaining effect of the ducting.
