Thank you for your question.
Yes this product only lets air through one way IE: When the fan or cooker hood is in operation it will open and close once not in use.

Thanksanswer nowA Hello TrevorThis is a non return valve to prevent back draught from prevailing wind or from when two fans share the same exhaust duct these would be installed in each duct just before the Y or T section.I hope this helps.

Excellent once the flap/damper had been eased to stop fouling on channelling
With rectangular ducting inserted in both ends, the damper fouled and wasnt free to open and close easily. Had to remove the damper to ease it a little – easy to do but shouldnt be necessary
