QHi, Is it possible to fix flexible ducting to this airbrick or does it need an adaptor?answer nowA Hello JohnIt depends on the flexible duct you have, if it is round 150mm then the answer is no and you would have to use QS366, the rectangular end would fit over the airbrick and QS284 would convert the female round end to fit round 150mm duct.
How do I fix it to the external wall? If I use screws, will they be exposed?

A Hello DFThe rear spigot is inserted into the ducting that would terminate at the wall and is a tight fit. The vent would not have to screwed to the outside wall and it should be sufficient to create a seal / fixing using builders caulk or mastic.
Is a damper the same as a back-draught mechanism to avoid wind & rain blowing back into the kitchen?

if the socket size is 178 x 90 how does the 180 x 90 duct fit to it?

A Hello Geoff Thank you for your question. The pipe is a female connection and the airbrick is a male connection. The spigot on the airbrick will fit directly into the pipe and the front of the airbrick will fit flush to the wall.
