Connect a hose to the relevant spigot/outlet and fix in place using a metal hose clip or tape.
Whilst compressed diameter size is larger than shown on listing, once fully extended diameter will shrink to listed size.

Hi I need to vent our kitchen extractor through our loft and this seems like easiest option but it's it possible to insulate it? And either way is it possible to use rigid plastic duct to vent kitchen extractor and again is there suitable insulation which can be applied once ducting in place or slid over some of pipework (I'm restricted to 150mm hole in ceiling due to cornice and need at least 125mm duct to comply with extractor guidance). Thank you!

Hi Niall,
There are a few options regarding ducting insulation. For our duct wrap please use the Quick Search code QS54001. This can be simply used to wrap around the ducting.
Another option would be to use PVC ducting near the cooking hood, and then use insulated aluminium flexible ducting to fit through the loft to prevent condensation. Quick Search Code QS:2453. I've sent you an email to help assist you in choosing the correct options.

Im using 125mm plastic 90 degree bend. Would 127mm or 125mm flexible hose be best?

A Both ducts will have an internal diameter of 125mm, so either of them would fit the bend. They are just measured differently by their manufacturers. One measures I/D and the other measures O/DKind regards, Marc
What is the internal diameter of this pipe when compressed. The largest it can be? I see previously stated the internal is 125mm, but i assume this is at full extension. I require it to fit over a pipe measuring 128.2mm

This would mean discarding the reducer supplied and using a 150mm to 125mm reducer (search code QS354) and then 125mm ducting to atmosphere.

Because of access issues and the fact that the run wont be dead straight, would it be possible to fit rigid plastic from the outside wall and then join it to this semi rigid aluminium on the inside and then join semi rigid onto top of cooker hood, or onto 90 degree rigid plastic bend to get to cooker hood? Thanksanswer nowA Hi AshaIf we understand correctly it appears you are trying to connect existing 150mm duct to new semi rigid duct, and add a 90 degree bend in which case you would need a connector (QS284) and hose clips (QS396). If connecting semi rigid to the hood spigot it should fit over the top, if connecting the 90 degree bend to the hood you would need to create a collar from rigid plastic duct (QS382)

I am thinking about using thie semi-rigid aluminium hose to replace the plastic hose used for my bathroom ectracor fan. We have occasional problems with mice and they have eaten holes through it. Do you think this could help?

Thanks!answer nowA Hello, My suggestion would be to use a safe male connector (GALNPU-150) - This will fit inside the semi-rigid hose and will form a tight seal without the need for any clips, tape, or any other effort on your part - and the connector will be almost invisible as the hoses will go over each end. The semi-rigid can be cut to the appropriate size and different lengths can be joined together using the connector.With kind regards, Michael

You will require a male connector to join the two pieces of ducting together. On the rigid side use duct tape to seal the joint and on the flexible side a quick release worm clip will be required.
