The Nuaire CYFAN centrifugal extract fan is a major advancement and has been designed to meet the flow rates for all wet room applications such as the bathroom, kitchen, utility, WC etc. The fan has the option to select either continuous or intermittent operation up to installed performance 60 l/s. Thank you for your question Richard,
There could be a few reasons why your unit is noisy. These include loose mounting or fixings, if the fan isn't mounted securely vibrations can cause rattling or humming sounds. Poorly aligned ducting or tight angles can increase air resistance and cause turbulent airflow resulting in noise. If the actual fan extractor itself is being loud I would recommend calling Nuaire to run diagnostics on the fan over the phone, their number is 02920858500.

If you can get the serial number off of the unit, which may be on the inside of the cover plate, or on the body of the unit itself and give Nuaire a call on 02920 858400, and let them know about the warning light, they should be able to find out if the unit is covered under warranty and deal with it directly with you. The Cyfan is an extractor fan, and as such should only be installed in bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms. If you wants something the give a bit of ventilation to the living room, then take a look at the Kair K-HRV150 Single Room Heat Recovery Unit, as it will both supply fresh air and extract moist/stale air. I would recommend a decent extractor in the kitchen ducted to atmosphere, such as the Cyfan.Kind regards, Marc

This fan can be ceiling mounted, but you may need to remove the pullcord, however, it does rather depend on the duct run length.The Cyfan can ventilation through around 6m of ducting. Please be aware though that in terms of air resistance, a 90 degree bends is the equivalent of adding 1m to the run.Kind regards, Marc.

We do recommend that a qualified electrician performs the wiring and installation. The 24v transformation would make your Cyfan into Safety Extra Low Voltage (SELV). SELV fans may be installed in wet areas in compliance with the IEE wiring regulations. See our video about Bathroom Zones & Wiring Regulations for more information.

You can read more about ceiling mounting in these Technical Instructions PDF. See bottom of page 7. There should not be any efficiency issues if connecting to your current flexible ducting, it is powerful enough to cope with 6m of ducting.

Probably the best vent we have used in all our properties.
Good fan but beware that the plastic becomes brittle over time and turns to mush around the screw mounts. That means buying a whole new unit
Not a great start so far, instruction manual’s template wasn’t printed to scale, one failed attempt at installation later and I’m now waiting until I can get a proper template printed to complete install.
It says on the template “if printing check scale”, but I didn’t expect to need to do this for the manufacturer supplied manual, not impressed.
