Nuaire Flatmaster Ventilation Unit – For properties with no loft space.
100mm diameter / 121x60mm interchangeable spigots supplied with the unit
The unit is designed to take fresh air from outside, clean the air and discharge it into the central hallway via a system of ducts.
The dwelling’s internal air discharge grille is usually installed at a high level in a central location within the hallway, although discharging the air down the length of the hallway (away from the front door) should also prove acceptable. Unit performance may be enhanced if an existing heat source can warm the discharged air, e.g. by locating the discharge grille above a radiator.
Based on the popular and low-energy Positive Input Ventilation principle which Nuaire invented in 1972, the Flatmaster range has been specifically designed to ventilate homes without lofts. The system introduces air into the home at a continuous low rate, eliminating condensation dampness and forcing our indoor pollutants such as Radon gas and carbon monoxide.
The aesthetically pleasing and compact unit is usually situated in a convenient location, such as a kitchen cupboard or hallway, and is ducted to a central location. Multi-positional spigots allow for quicker installation with only one external wall penetration.
Right or Left side heater?
There are two versions, Left and Right. The version you need will depend on which side of the house/wall the unit can be fitted. Check the above diagram, the heater (Marked in red) should always be pointing to the inside of the house.

Told by a damp surveyor I need one of these in a summerhouse. We have no other means of ventilation due to it being wooden except some regular plastic grille vents we've drilled a few holes through the wood and covered with. We've been advised this isn't enough as it's leaving the air stale inside and this is why we're seeing mould on furniture. The summerhouse is about 17ft x 11ft so I'm worried this unit is overkill and isn't actually needed? I feel they're trying to sell it to us as they supply and fit them for a large sum of money. Could someone give advice on if it's actually needed and if not, what else could be causing my issue? It's well insulated, built up off the floor on a slab base, has a heater running throughout winter and air con unit during summer if that info is needed. Thank you

Yes it is pretty easy. You just need to take the front cover off to get access to the filters. You will need to take the cover off before install anyway, as the duct spigots and various fittings will be located inside there to keep them safe in transport.Kind regards, Marc

This unit is continuous running and if switched off will not do what it is suppose to do. It is not recommend that this unit is installed in the bedroom, but if this is the only room with external walls then the unit could be installed within an acoustic lined box. The best place to install it, would be a central hall way that has direct access to the outside. It will need to be ducted to the unit from the outside, and then ducting to one central area. It will then fill the property with fresh filtered air, and it will distribute that air to all rooms in the property.

A Hi Mike The unit comes with a variation of spigot plates, blanking plates in round and rectangular, rear spigot fixing plus a switch, no cable is supplied. If you click on the image of the unit it will expand and the box contents are in an image below the main one.

A particularly good location for the unit would be an airing or hot water tank cupboard.

This fan is a Positive Pressure Unit for a flat. It has to be installed near an external wall and ducted into the hall way for the air to filter around the flat. Very pleased with extremely quick delivery and good price. Unit running well so far, replacing an old one which became noisy after 10 years.
