KAIR 90 DEGREE VERTICAL BEND
This vertical 90 degree elbow bend can be used to run your ductwork around obstacles, along walls and into ceilings and offers superior performance and durability over flexible alternatives.
Kair ducting is designed to be low profile to fit inside ceilings, floor slabs, or to be concealed above kitchen wall units. It is best utilised as a part of a ducting system for high powered cooker hood extractors and whole-house ventilation systems, such as heat recovery systems or mechanical ventilation systems in offices, houses, and apartments.
- Made in the UK using strong high-quality white polystyrene/polypropylene material.
- Max / Min Temperature: +60c / -15c.
- Easy to install and durable, just push-fit duct and fittings together.
- For permanent fixings, seal joints with silicone sealant, solvent cement or tape.
- Kair plastic rigid duct provides superior airflow performance and durability versus flexible duct.
- Suitable to use in compliance with Part F Building Regulations.
- Airflow performance independently tested by BSRIA or BRE.
Installation Tips:
1. Kair plastic ducting pipe is lightweight & easy to install. You simply push-fit the duct pipe and fittings together. For permanent fixings, you can seal the joints with a method of your choice (Popular options include silicone sealant, solvent cement or tape).
2. Rectangular plastic ducting can be carefully cut to the required size using a hacksaw. Offcuts are always useful to keep to hand for joining two female fittings together.
3. If your duct run passes through a particularly cold area, we would recommend considering using our pre-insulated ducting to avoid condensation building up within your ductwork. Click here to view our range of pre-insulated plastic ducting.

Hi Marc, thanks for your help and patience. Just another couple of questions, in the duct run of 8m I can put the extract fan anywhere, what difference does it make near the bathroom or the outside? Also if I extract into the garage I didn’t mention I also have quite a powerful extract fan from the garage to outside? Regards Tony

I generally suggest installing it halfway. If you have an extract fan in the garage, then that should be ok, however, if you come to sell the house, it may get picked up, as it wont meet building regs.

I could reduce the number of bends to 3 and the run length to 8m? I am extracting a rarely used shower room through a large garage of 77 cubic metre, could I just extract through the wall to this garage open space?

It isnt recommended to vent directly into a garage, as you will be filling the garage with extra humidity. With regards to 90 degree bends, they are the equivalent to adding 1m to your duct run for each 90 degree bend added. A fan can only extract so far.I would still suggest the MEVDC2 to be honest.Kindest regards, Marc.

That is a very long duct run, and a lot of 90 degree bends. They will cause a lot of restriction to air flow. The only unit that may be able to deal with that, would be the Nuaire MEVDC2. They are continuous running fans. If you can lessen the amount of 90s that would help, but it is still a long duct run.Kindest regards, Marc.
