KAIRĀ WHITE POWDER-COATED METAL ADJUSTABLE CEILING AIR EXTRACT VALVE
High-quality white powder-coated metal adjustable ceiling air extract vent. The airflow is adjusted by rotating the control disc. Male spigot will fit inside Round Pipe or Flexible Hose.
- Aesthetically pleasing wipe-clean design suitable for internal use.
- Suitable for internal use in compliance with Part F Building Regulations.
- Designed to extract air. If you are looking to supply air we recommend using a supply valve.
- The airflow is adjusted by rotating the control disc and locking with a lock nut when set.
- Mounting ring manufactured in 0.6mm thick galvanised steel with four 3mm fixing holes.
- The valve body is supplied with a cellular plastic gasket to form an air-tight seal.

It is an extract valve for extracting moisture via an inline extractor fan or an MVHE System. Take a look on our website under Ventilation, then look for Passive ventilation, which will appear on the right. That will show you options for Passive ventilation.Kindest regards, Marc

Hi just a quick question. I am moving into an apartment have see that there are these vents in the bathrooms. I dont hear anything when i switch the lights on. What exactly are these and how do they work please? I place a tissue to see if there was any suction but there was nothing at all. Yet there is an isolation fan switch which i can only assume is for these vent like fans. Your answer will be most appreciated Thank you

This is an extract valve which is installed in the ceiling and then ducted to an in-line fan which extracts the room. If you have held a tissue up to the valve and nothing has happened i can only assume that it is not fitted to anything and just been installed or if there is an in-line fan it has stopped working. As the extract valve is used in internal applications and does not have the mesh so flys and spiders will crawl inside. Is that correct?answer nowA Hello RichardThere is also a plastic version of this which would be the better choice in a high moisture creating environment as plastic has better thermal qualities and there is always the possibility of condensation forming on the actual metal vent.Once installed in the ceiling there is very little visible difference. I think the off white effect is enhanced because it is shown against a stark white background.RegardsIan

A Hello DavidThe product is in two sections, a collar with flange is inserted into the ceiling aperture and screwed in place, the vent has an internal spigot which is inserted into the collar and fixed with a quarter turn screw motion, it is removed for cleaning by reversing the quarter turn.In regard to the previous question the plastic version can be found by entering QS275 in the search bar.RegardsIan

QIs this item adequately protected from rusting over time in high humidity conditions like a shower room?answer nowA Hello DavidI think this will be difficult to answer satisfactorily as it would depend on the test conditions and actual installation type.For instance the item is galvanised and the visible face is powder coated but is installed with metal screws which may expose the metal in small areas. Its exposure to condensate would also be directly related to the ventilation system it is installed with, if it was a responsive form of extract (light or humidity controlled) then there is a possibility that when the extraction is not running some residual humidity would form on the surface and over time this must have an eventual corrosive effect.If however it was installed as part of a constant running system with automatic boost facility the exposure to condensate would be much reduced and the life expectancy increased.In essence we would probably recommend that the very similar plastic version should be used in wet rooms.I hope this helps.RegardsIan

A Hello Mark Thank you for your question. The valve is fitted by unscrewing the back part off. This part is then fitted into the hole that has been cut and screwed to the plasterboard or ceiling the front part then screws back on.
